Update from the Elders re: Pastoral Transition at Trinity
As we continue in our
transition, we take this opportunity to update
where we are on the senior pastor search. We received around 130
resumes for the Senior Pastor position. Shortly after the position
close out date of April 5th, 2009, the search committee began the
process of reviewing all the resumes and prayerfully considering all
the candidates. We trusted that each person submitting a package for
consideration sincerely felt led by the Lord to do so.
Therefore,
we wanted to ensure each received a thorough review and proper
consideration. As you can imagine, working through 130
resumes
took some time.
After working through the initial consideration process, we narrowed
the list to about 16 candidates. Whereupon, we begin a much deeper look
at each of these, noting the key characteristics, doctrinal positions,
their statements of faith, experiences and other such qualities. As we
continued to work through the list, we sought and listened to sermons
and in a few cases contacted the candidates for follow up
questions.
As the search process continues, we are down to just a few candidates
and will shortly begin an in depth interview process. Each
member
of the search committee as well as the full eldership is engaged and
committed to following through with these candidates until the Lord
shows us which will be brought before the congregation.
As far as filling the senior pastor roles in the interim, we are
continuing with the interim plan that was approved by the congregation
in our December congregational meeting. Please continue to pray for
wisdom, unity, and strength as we to serve the Lord in the
community. God has given us a vision and mission and by His
power
and grace we will continue in that path.
Please feel free to contact any of the Elders with any questions you
might have in this interim period. The Elders will give regular updates
to the congregation at congregational meetings.
